Our 2008 Family Vacation

I said I wouldn't do much but I really wanted to go ahead and post some of our family vacation pictures while I had this computer home. We went with some of our sweet friends for 2 days to Orlando before going over to Daytona Beach for the week. We had the best time ever! It's always hard to believe how quickly the week passes by. Slade was pretty scared of the ocean to begin with but had a good time as long as someone was holding his hand. Savannah swam like a fish from day one. It was just a GREAT time! Love those family trips spending special time with my hubby and sweet babies. Mom and Dad kept the kids one night so Chris and I could have a date night. He took me to The Chart House and we went to see the new movie Hancock. We definitely need more date nights like that. My favorite days were the two we spent just on the beach with two umbrellas and chairs with the kids building sand castles and eating corn dogs with ice cream dripping all over themselves. PRICELESS!!! Plus, the day we rented the "foewheedurs" as Slade calls them. It was his idea to get BIG 4 wheelers. Okay, hope you enjoy the pictures :o)

Okay. So.....for those of you that don't know, I am renovating our Children's area at the church. Actually, we've got a construction company tearing out a wall, tearing out carpet, etc. but we are having to do a ton of the work ourselves. So I'm at the church with three dear friends until about 2am this morning painting houses on the walls. As we start to leave, we get out in the parking lot and one of the cars has been broken in to. Her window was busted out and her purse stolen. Her iod was left in the seat where her purse had also been. I felt horrible. I was mad, sad and guilty. If she hadn't been there painting with me, this never would have happened. Then I started to think about Satan and how he tries to come and steal and destroy. How he had used some person to do his work. God is moving and doing amazing things at our church and these sweet girls had spent hours in service for God and this ticked Satan off. His revenge was to steal from the most precious child of God as she is about to go off to college tomorrow to learn more about how to use the gifts and talents He has given her to glorify Him even more. It just made me so mad that Satan would take it out on her and not me. I honestly don't even know what else to say. I am just sad that there are people in our society that are so blinded by Satan and the things of this world that they choose to hurt others and think only of their own desires. I am thankful though that none of us walked out by ourselves and it makes me even more grateful for the precious friends who stayed all night with me so that I would not be alone. It could have really ended alot worse than it did. I know, I know, I should never be up at the church (or anywhere else) that late at night. You can forgo the comments about safety. Won't be doing it again :O) Alright, that's enough of the bad stuff. Savannah starts Kindergarten tomorrow morning and she is excited and nervous all bundled up in her belly. She even wrote a song for her teacher that she wants to give her in the morning. It was the most precious thing ever. She kept trying to think of words to sing and then finally ran and got a piece of paper and a pen. she started making up the song and asked how to write it. I would tell her how to spell one or two words from each sentence and then she handed it to me to write more. She sang about Slade playing with her and riding on the boat and seeing pretty fish and a lot of geese. She cannot wait to give it to Mrs. Pruett in the morning! Pray for us (me) in the morning and see how things went tomorrow. I'll write and post some pictures.

Here We Go!!!

okay! So....I,m up and it is 1:22am. I have been up reading all of my friends blogs. I started out with Amy Sullins and I was soooooo moved by what god is doing in her life. Then I go from hers to Mandi's and WOW! I know so many things about her now! It's amazing how you can get to know someone by reading their life on their blog. I work in the office next door but it is just that. We are working and we just don't have five seconds to even invest in each others lives. It stinks and it's something I plan to do something about! Anyway, so here I am starting a blog now. It was cool to see a post on Amy's where she had one year blog anniversary and can see all the ways God has worked in their lives in the last year. I guess I figure this can be a way for us to chronicle our lives for keeps. I want to have it all somewhere and this seems to be the best way to do it. Plus, all of our sweet family and friends can keep up with the craziness we call our lives. Alright, Savannah is going to be in KINDERGARTEN in 3 days!!! I am not sure I am quite ready for this is if I am truly honest with myself. I could probably start crying right now if I actually stop long enough to truly think about what all of this means for us. She is no longer a baby and will be a kid in school. No turning back now! We went to her new school tonight to meet her teacher and it started out pretty rocky. We registered in the spring but now they wanted proof of residency AGAIN!!! one little problem, it's 6:00pm, we haven't had dinner, my husband is with me, and that should say enough. Needless to say, after going home to find a utility bill, Savannah and I went back and met the teacher and had a GREAT visit BY OURSELVES. Savannah actually talked to her new teacher Mrs. Pruett (right after I told her how shy she is, of course). We got off to a wonderful start. Read my blog on Friday, the first day of school, and you'll see how things (I) am doing! I just love my babies sooo much and know how great this is going to be. I just also know that once they start school, they start EVERYTHING! I'm envisioning ballet, softball, cheerleading, football, baseball, basketball, gymnastics, sitting at the Boy's club every night of the week, first dates, proms, weddings, aagghhh! You get the picture. I just know how fast time flies. It's coming and I'm not sure I'm ready! HERE WE GO!!!!!!!!!
